Wow! It’s Wednesday already? Where does the time go? It seems like everyday (and evening!) is filled with multiple activities. Unfortunately, this busyness mean I haven’t had a chance to craft in a while. But, I still have a couple of projects to share with you.

I created these projects for the March issue of Scrap n’ Art.

This layout features Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker “My Lil’ Monster.” I actually fussy cut out the frame and monsters from the patterned paper.

This card was perfect for teacher appreciation day last week! And, since I created for the March issue of Scrap n’ Art, there was no rushing around at the last minute for a card. 😉

I used Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker “School is Cool.” I really love the colors in this line!

Hope you are having a wonderful week. I am hoping I will get a chance to finish up a couple of projects sitting on my work table.

Keep crafting! Until next time…

Here are a couple of past projects which were featured in Scrap n’ Art.

This first one is a card which was featured on their blog in February. I am not sure why I did not share it on my blog at the same time, but, nevertheless, here it is now! I used BoBunny’s Smoochable line on the card.

The following layout was seen in the February 2012 issue of Scrap n’ Art.

This layout also features BoBunny’s Smoochable line.

Keep crafting! Until next time…

Sorry for the lack of blogging these past couple of weeks, but I was enjoying this:

After coming back from paradise about a week and a half ago, it was full steam ahead. I had lots to catch up on and sadly, this blog got neglected.

However, to make it up to you, I do have a crafty project to share. It is a card I made for Scrap n’ Art magazine which was featured on their blog in April.

I created it using Spellbinder M-Bossabilities, Donna Salazar’s Bitty Blossoms, American Crafts cardstock, May Arts ribbon, Hot Off the Press patterned paper and a Unity stamp. To see all the details, check out the blog post here: http://snablog.pagefarm.com/double-the-fun-with-spellbinders-m-bossabilities/

Now that I have gotten back in the swing of things a bit, look for some new posts this week, including one for a National Scrapbook Day blog hop!

Keep crafting! Until next time…

Recently, I had to make a sympathy card. We had a loss in the family of an elderly relative. While we all knew his health was declining, it was still a bit of a shock to receive the phone call telling us he was finally gone.

A sympathy card was in order. These are never easy to create and I had to create this one quickly. I decided to go with a white on white and keep it relatively simple. This is what I came up with.

I cut out the card using my Silhouette machine on some white cardstock. I then embossed the whole card using Spellbinders M-Bossibilities Imperial (Design B). I used some May Arts ribbon (Satin/Center Ruffle – White) and printed a sentiment from the computer on white cardstock. I added a flower and button to finish it off.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Until next time…

Posting two days in a row? Don’t get use to it! LOL! It probably won’t happen again anytime soon! =)

Since yesterday was all text, I thought I would provide a photo filled post today with projects I am now allowed to share from Scrap n’ Art.

Holiday Book Cover as seen in the December 2011 issue of Scrap n’ Art.

Baby Girl Gift Bag and Card as seen in January 2012 issue of Scrap n’ Art.

I think there might be one or two more and then I will be all caught up. If you don’t want to wait, then head on over to Scrap n’ Art and check out my latest creations!

A Little Inspiration

Since I haven’t been scrapping on a very regular basis, I decided I needed a little jump start on getting back into the creative groove again. Where is the first place I looked? Why the sketch and challenge blogs of course! Here is a card I put together using the Mojo Monday sketch from last week and the CR84FN Color Challenge.

Here’s mine:

And here is the close-up of the stamped sentiment (Unity Stamps):

I used some really old BasicGrey LilyKate on this and discovered that I am still not a very confident stamper, but I am going to challenge myself to use more stamps this year. We will see how I do. Have a great Wednesday!

This is my final installment of the projects I completed for the Nook Scrap-Off! I have to say again that I had a blast participating in this contest. The challenges were all wonderful and the inspiration I received was incredible. The ladies on this message board are amazingly creative!

This first layout was the one I did for the main challenge of round 2. We had to take a current self-portrait and journal on the layout. The theme was “Keepin It Real.” I don’t think I could have gotten a more “real” photo if I had tried. LOL!

Then, there was a double or nothing challenge where we had to be creative with the shape of our photos. I actually think this is one of my favorite layouts I created for this contest even though I ended up not doing very well in this particular challenge.

And finally, we had to create two cards to send to other participants in the Scrap-Off. Mine are stamped and sealed…now I just have to actually get them into the mailbox!

Are you getting bored yet? I hope not! LOL! I have some more creations to share with you from The Nook Scrap-Off!

Starting off this post is another set of cards I did for a scraps challenge. We had to use the same set of scraps on all three cards. This was NO problem for me and my overflowing scraps box. I really need to learn to get rid of some of the smaller scraps, but it is just so hard for me to let go!! Yes, I know, I have a problem! LOL!

Next up is a layout challenge that was actually quite a challenge for me. We had to use cardstock as a base and no patterned paper. Instead, we had to use journaling spots in place of patterned paper. We could use any other embellishments we wanted as well. This is what I came up with.

SNR out for pub 2(Time Together)

cardstock: Paper Reflections

transparency journaling spots: Hambly Studios

“Today” journaling spot: Heidi Swapp

stickers: Die Cuts with a View

flower: Heidi Grace Designs

brad: Making Memories

alpha stickers: The Paper Studio

pen: Zig

Then, there was a challenge to “Scrap like it was 1999.” We had to make a card using only patterned paper, stickers and cardstock. The goal was to scrap with the products that were originally available when scrapbooking first started. Luckily, we didn’t have to go back and find products from 1999!

I will be back soon with the rest of the projects I created for this contest! Unfortunately, I did not make it into the final round, but I can’t complain. I have done more scrapping in the last month than I have in a long time and that is saying something with all the other scrappy commitments I have (and those have all been done as well!).

In other news, I wanted to share that I just found out I have had 3 layouts selected for the next issue of ScrapStreet Magazine! Whoo Hoo! Look for them in the July issue! I will be sure to let you know when it comes out!

If you thought I had a lot of projects to share for the first round of the Nook Scrap-Off, hold onto your hats, because the challenges came fast and furious on the second round!

First up is a “Use This But Not That” challenge. We had to use flowers as embellishments, at least 3 patterned papers and the color yellow. We could not use less than 2 photos, brads or stars. Here is what I came up with using my leftover scraps from the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird line.

SNR out for pub 2(Birthday Dinner)

cardstock: SEI

patterned paper: Cosmo Cricket

alpha stickers: Cloud 9 Design

flowers: Prima

floss: DMC

Next up, we had to look around us and find an inspiration piece from which to base a layout. I chose the wall panels in my living room.

This is the layout I came up with.

Our Own Narnia

patterned paper and alpha stickers: Deja Views

felt trim: Queen & Co.

punches: Martha Stewart, Marvy Uchida

flowers: Heidi Grace Designs

rhinestones: Heidi Swapp

pen: Zig

Then, it was time for some cardmaking! I went back to the Cosmo Cricket scraps to come up with three food themed cards which all had to have some chipboard on them.

This contest has definitely been keeping me busy, but it has been so much fun! I think round two might need a couple more posts to share everything, but it will have to wait! I have some other projects that need to be completed and a very busy weekend ahead! Ball games, parties and luckily for me, a little scrapping time! Have a wonderful Friday!

Here are some more of the projects I created for the Scrapbook Nook Scrap-Off. I made it to Round 2! Whoo Hoo! The challenges are now fast and furious! And at the end of this round, there will be 10 left standing. I am trying to do as many of them as I can, but as a couple new ones pop up every day with about 24-48 hours to complete, I may soon be running out of steam! LOL! Either that or my kids may demand to know why there is no food, no clean laundry, etc. 🙂

Before I show you what I have been up to for Round 2, I want to share with you the rest of the projects I did for Round 1 starting with this layout I did for a mini color challenge. This was the inspiration piece. (Fabric found on Etsy.)

And here is what I did with it.

All Natural

patterned paper and alpha stickers: Basic Grey

punch: Fiskars, Marvy Uchida

flower: Prima

pen: American Crafts

button and ribbon: unknown

Next up was a “recipe” card challenge. Not a food recipe, but a list of materials that is to be included in your final creation. The challenge recipe called for 2 patterned papers, ribbon and flowers.

Removed For Publication(Bloom Where You Are Planted card)

cardstock: The Paper Company

patterned paper: Cosmo Cricket

ribbon: Basic Grey

button: American Crafts

flower: unknown

Then there was the button challenge. We had to use at least 25 buttons on a layout and they couldn’t be flower centers. I had no problem finding 25 buttons…it just took me a while and a phone call to a scrappy friend to figure out what to do.

Thank Heaven for Little Girls

patterned paper and cardstock stickers: Basic Grey

pen: American Crafts

buttons: unknown

floss: DMC

I know you are probably wondering why I have no clue where my buttons are from. The answer is simple. I won them at a crop where you had to guess how many buttons were in the jar. My answer was the closest and I came home with over 350 buttons of unknown origin. And even after making this layout, sadly, my stash of buttons still looks untouched.

The next layout challenge was another “All About Me” layout. We had to chose an attribute that described ourselves (but couldn’t be scrapper or some type of family member) and base it on this Becky Fleck Pagemaps sketch.

Impatient

cardstock: Paper Reflections

patterned paper: My Mind’s Eye, Twelve Fridays

punches: Fiskars, Martha Stewart, Marvy Uchida

rub-ons: Heidi Grace Designs

alpha stickers: Cloud 9 Design

ribbon: from Twelve Fridays Sept. 08 kit

pen: American Crafts

Then, there was another layout challenge to scrap a strong emotion you  have felt. This layout was due on my wedding anniversary, so here is how I celebrated it!

Anticipation

cardstock: Bazzill

patterned paper: Deja Views, My Mind’s Eye

ribbon: JoAnn’s

stamp: Autumn Leaves

ink: VersaMark, Rubber Stampede

pen: Sakura, Zig

alpha stickers: Paper Studio

punch: Fiskars

flowers: Heidi Grace Designs

brads: Creative Impressions

And, there was a no adhesive challenge.

boogie time

cardstock: Bazzill

patterned paper: My Mind’s Eye

alpha stickers: American Crafts

brads: Creative Impressions

ribbon: Michael’s

punch: Fiskars

floss: DMC

other: staples

Whew! That’s it for now! I will be back soon with the creations I have done for round 2 later!
