Keeping It Simple

I was working on another new layout for Memories Live On this past week and no matter how much I added to it, I eventually had to take it all off. The clean and simple scrapper in me couldn’t handle the clutter!

I can do small clusters, but for some reason this layout wouldn’t go beyond what is there now. And believe me, I tried. I tried ribbon, buttons, more ribbon and none of it worked. So here it is in all it’s simplicity.

I really wanted to highlight the Anna Griffin paper. I cut up the green and pink to create the background. Then I used both sides of another paper to frame the photo. I used some cardstock and the rest of the patterned paper to create the flowers, which I cut with Donna Salazar’s Bitty Blossoms by Spellbinders. Here is the complete supply list:

Paper: Anna Griffin

Cardstock: Bazzill “Snowy”

Die-cuts: Spellbinders “Shapeabilities: Donna Salazar Bitty Blossoms,” Provo Craft Cuttlebug

Adhesive: Beacon Adhesives “3-IN-1 Advanced Craft Glue,” GlueArts “Glue Glider Pro: PermaTac”

Stickers: American Crafts Thickers “Puffy: Chit Chat (White),” Scenic Route “Olive Date Labels”

That’s it for me for a little while. Spring break is coming up and we are taking a much anticipated vacation!

Keep crafting! Until next time…

A Dream Weekend

What would you want to do for a whole weekend if you had it all to yourself? Well, the answer to that is quite easy for me! I would want to scrap the weekend away! And I have the perfect spot too!

My friend, the uber-talented Christine, just started a new endeavor…a scrap retreat house!!! You can read all about it here! I have already spent quite a bit of time perusing the site and trying to convince dh that I NEED to go! LOL! I think I will have better luck with him once I round up a couple of my girlfriends to go with me! It is a bit of a drive, but one I would definitely be willing to make! Are you interested? Go check out Christine’s blog (she has an awesome RAK going on right now!) and the Scrap Retreat House website.

Girl’s Night!

This past Saturday, I got to spend the evening with two of my scrappy friends! It was sooo fun! We had such a blast! We met at the house of the girl that was located in the middle and chatted and scrapped all night! And since we are all Fiskateers, we had all responded to a call on the Fiskateer message board for volunteers to create a layout for a baby book (unbeknownst to each other).  Here is what we created!

(All of the layouts are 8×8)

hisaho1Isn’t this darling? My friend used the Cricut to create the title and the pea pod!

Jennifer created this one:

Yup…I found something that is more exciting than scrapbooking. College football. Especially when it is my Texas Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry against the Oklahoma Sooners. And it is #5 (Texas) against #1 (OU) and no one expects us to win. But we did.

Unfortunately, my body demanded it! Not to bore you, but my back went out on the 4th and I couldn’t walk for 2 days and was in pretty bad pain for a week. Just went to the doctor’s yesterday and got some medication and some stretching exercises. Hopefully this will eliminate the pain for good. Now back to our regularly scheduled program!
